Fuel Cells in Your Daily Life

Fuel cells are all around us no matter where you go. Every time you turn your head there is a person talking on a cell phone, driving in a hybrid car, or walking by a hospital. Guess what? All of those things use or have fuel cells in them. In this project you will be put into separate groups of 3-4 student, preferably 3. As you split up into your groups you are going to choose something in our everyday life that contains a fuel cell. At this current moment, if you are not sure what in you life has fuel cells in it, do some research with your group members. After you select your topic you are to submit it to the professor. This project will be a first come first serve basis, so if you want to do Smartphone's then make sure you are the first team to hand Smartphone's in. If your topic is duplicated you will be asked to choose another topic. the reason for this project is to make you students aware just how much fuel cells are around us each day. After your team gets your topic you will be asked to do a few things with it. the first is you will present your topic through a poster board or PowerPoint. The choice is completely up to you, because I understand not all student have access to a local computer. In your presentation you will present your findings. In this presentation, it should include background information on fuel cells itself, background information on your topic, how fuel cells are incorporated in your topic, and lastly you will give us a brief overview of how it works. Your presentations should last up to 15 minutes, in which after your 15 minutes is up there will be a 5-10 minute question and answer period. After your presentation is complete, your group will have to hand in a 6-8 page paper describing in more depth what you told us in your PowerPoint. this is a group of 3-4 so 6-8 pages in very doable. Below are the steps broken down from which I have explained. Good luck with your project, but most of all try and learn something new.

Step 1: Choose your groups of 3-4 students

Step 2: Pick your topic (Making sure there is no duplication)

Step 3: PowerPoint presentation (15-20 minutes in length, including question and answer period)

Step 4: Submit your 6-8 page paper describing in greater length what you have learned.
